Assalaamu Alaikum, after a really long time, I finally have something to showcase this Saturday! As usual, I have so many WIPs going on at the same time and nothing’s done. This week’s showcase is a little crochet brooch that I made last Sunday afternoon to wear to my cousin’s wedding tomorrow.
Of course I had nothing to wear to the main reception! The breakfast after the nikah is a no-brainer as I’ll wear a fancy black abaya, multi-toned pink hijab and funky jewellery. But for the evening event, I went out and bought a silver-grey satin blouse, matching pin-tucked skirt which I’ll top with a tailored dark grey waistcoat.
This is the skirt which I bought in a lovely muted silver-grey (source: www.edgars.co.za)I’ll be rounding it off with a lovely hijab that my Mom bought me for my birthday last year, but it still needed a little something. So I quickly made this cute 3-leaf clover brooch to wear on the waistcoat. I adore this colour as it’s my favourite shade, plus it brings out the hints of green on the hijab.

Hey Umm Salihah, I'm also fairly new to crochet and I highly recommend it; but just be careful as it can be addictive :-D
